A world traveller with a local heart

Gyuri profile

I got bit by the travel bug, and it turned out to be quite an infectious one. It happend somewhere in the Abel Tasman National Park in New Zealand back in 2013.

At the time, I was already running the agency that eventually gave birth to HighVibes but I met a girl. One who had even crazier dreams than I did. Fast forward three months and I found myself driving a Honda Odyssey-turned-sleeper on the motorway south of Auckland, with nothing but a three-month plan and a whole country to discover.

Twelve years and a few continents later, we’ve settled in South London, where that crazy girl from the story now the mother of my two boys, Andris and Bruno. Life has been a steady stream of planning mad adventures and eating my way into friendships from Berlin to Milan and back home in Budapest. The best parts? Finding friends along the way who make every trip feel like home and gives us access to the “locals only” zones no tourist ever finds.

HighVibes Budapest is my attempt to give our guests a slice of that same “locals only” magic when they roll into town for a meeting or incentive trip. After years orbiting creative scenes in Europe, and growing up inside Budapest’s (sometimes offbeat) culture, I know exactly where the real stuff happens. My team—Niki, Dóri, Kitti, Szabolcs—are the kind of people I trust with making sure every event feels more like a great gathering of friends than a work trip. Drop us a line, and who knows? By the time you leave Budapest, you might just feel like one of the locals.
